The SeaCities Lab specializes in design engineering solutions for the coastal and marine environment. We offer a wide range of services, from conducting innovative research and training for both industry and government sectors to putting that research into practice.

Our Brain Kit is a tool that encompasses ecological, systems-based, innovative, creative, interdisciplinary, strategic, and process-oriented thinking to support ideation. Independent of sudden inspirations, this new methodology generates and implements innovation almost automatically as demonstrated by several patents.

Our Research spans from basic to applied interdisciplinary research including the identification of the research question, literature review and methodology development, formation of the interdisciplinary team, conceptual framework development, data collection and analysis, synthesis and integration of findings, translation to applied contexts, evaluation and feedback, and dissemination and communication.

Our Engineering Workshop is supporting our research with extensive facilities for structural tests, custom-designed wave tank and sand flume, aerodynamic test equipment, particle image velocimeter and a 3D printing and CNC machining centre.
